Sinaia, beyond the ocean (2011) 52’/76′

SYNOPSIS

In May 1939 the ship Sinaia transported 1800 refugees from the Spanish Civil War from France to Mexico. It was the first of a series of boats that offered a new life to thousands of refugees. The documentary “Sinaia, más allá del océano” (“Sinaia, beyond the ocean”) recreates that epos through a day to day journey that today makes a merchant ship on the same route, while we hear at the same time the witnesses who experienced that journey.
